"Youtube Watch Later" - A missed opportunity

I don’t even remember when was the last time I saw a video from my watch later list on youtube?

As a designer, I find it ironic that I can't just enjoy using products like a regular human being. Instead, my brain is constantly scanning for usability issues, needs, and patterns. Take YouTube's "Watch Later" feature, for example. While it's handy to have a place to save videos for later, my list has become an unorganised and cluttered mess. I'm constantly saving new videos, but I often forget about the ones I've already saved.

What I really need is some help staying organised. It would be great if YouTube could send me notifications or reminders about the videos I've saved. Or maybe they could give me a separate section on the home screen dedicated to my "Watch Later" list. And let's be real, I'm never going to watch all of those videos which I have already watched, so it would be helpful to have an auto-archive feature that clears out the ones I've already watched from the list.

YouTube already offers sorting options, but I think it would be even better if I could prioritise videos or set due dates for myself. That way, I could feel a sense of urgency to watch certain videos before they expire. And if YouTube really wants to go above and beyond, they could create a personalised "Watch Later" playlist based on my viewing habits. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a backlog of saved videos, so this would be a great way to help us all stay on top of our content consumption.
